CM Harish Rawat inaugurated the much-awaited Indo-Pak Exhibition organised by India International Trade Event Organisation in collaboration with the Kabir Company at Tussat Function Centre on Saturday. It is a weeklong exhibition which will go on tillOctober 22.

The exhibition exhibits products from Pakistan and Dubai. The exhibition has nearly 100 stalls, 30 from Pakistan and 10 from Dubai, the rest from different parts of India like Kashmir, Punjab and Jaipur.

The products range from handicraft to designer wear, formal and informal, onyx, textile, furniture and food items.

“This is an endeavour to better relations and strengthen traditional, cultural and trade ties with the neighbouring countries. Besides, the people of Doon have a really rich taste for clothes and are fond of Pakistani kurtis and paridhaans,” says Shaheen, one of the stall owners from Pakistan.

Stalls like “Eat Cake” which deals in various innovative produce in bakery items is also a part of exhibition. Ambika Goel, the owner, says, “I look forward to make people happy. That’s my motto of life. Also there is something for everybody at my stall”.

Rakshanda of “Rakshandaa- The Designs of Kashmir” is an entrepreneur from Kashmir and has put up some really nice pashmina shawls and jackets. “These days nobody knows about pure pashmina. I am looking forward for potential customers who really know the real value of the product and are not hesitant in investing money,” she says.

Seema Khan from Karachi is one of the people who loves to travel and believes in bonding with customers. She says, “I love India and the people here are very polite and cooperative. We connect with India so much so that we feel we are in our own country because the cultures are so similar”.
